Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania and is now an actress from Germany and Romania. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole children to Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the showbiz world early and was performing lead roles in various television dramas by the time she reached the age of 16. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and received critical and commercial great success. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Over the years Alexandra has been involved in a variety of noteworthy national and international projects. These comprise British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as well as French history mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
