Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is a Romanian/German actress. Her most famous films are Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra Maria Lara was born as the sole son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16 she portrayed the lead role in several dramas on television. Her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated features featuring the divas. Alexandra was engaged in numerous important projects both locally as well as internationally. One of these is the British biographical movie Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon. Other roles she has held include being an official jury member for both the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
